Frutchem - God of disease, third son of Gamor - Mother is Helma, the goddess of the Earth
Some gods receive more than their fair share of praise and followers, and there are others that are nothing but mere whispers among the common people. Frutchem is one such god, the third and discarded son of Gamor, but the cherished babe of Helma.
As the gods reside in the pantheon above, Fruchem is not among them. Nor does he dwell in the underworld as does his sire. Instead Frutchem is a god that is constantly in motion, never settling in one place for too long as he in unable to hide his divinity from mortals for long periods of time. Divinity leaks from him into the world in the form of disease, giving him no option but to move or be discovered.
Frutchem is considered evil, but his deep connection to his mother Helma keeps his rage at bay, and perhaps the mortal realm alive. Her compassion grounds his actions, and because of her he allows for some to survive his diseases. He has always been torn asunder by his love of his mother and his deep desire to gain his Gamor’s favor. He feeds more souls than he should to the underworld wishing to one day be the right hand of Gamor, knowing that the task is all but impossible. But what do gods have but time?
Frutchem enjoys a good suffering mortal, one who agonizes in pain, but oddly enough doesn’t care if they recover or die, his power comes from the affliction. Unknown to most Frutchem has thirteen demigod children spawned from different mothers of different races. Being inflicted with a deadly disease, these womans made a trade with Frutchem. A cure against a child. Being the adopted kids of Frutchem, these kids quickly develop non-lethal disease, their life is one of hardship. Often doing his bidding, they are a terrible sight and are deadly in battle. They are known as “The Aasiut Saint” or “The Poisoned One”. It is said that he sometimes allows one of them to wield his greatsword “Blackburn” just to hear the screams as it drains their souls. When one passes, he "recruit" a new one.
Frutchem’s symbol is a rotten hangman tree.
